Monbana has always been dedicated to creating a world of chocolate which makes the dreams of chocolate - lovers come true and offers exciting new taste sensations.
In 1934, Louis Guattari founded MONBANA, a company specialising in the manufacture of cocoa butter and powder. Since 1947, Louis Guattari and his 2 sons have been expanding their expertise from roasting and crushing cocoa beans to developing breakfast cocoa powders. Originally a supplier to collectives, Monbana began to put its expertise to work for prestigious major brands.
Inspired by Jean Guattari, who became CEO in 1955, and the simultaneous launch of a line of upmarket confectionery, which quickly became the most popular in Paris, Monbana diversified into the catering market. The development of the Monbana brand continued with the arrival of Yves Guattari.
The year 1978 was marked by the launch of those little chocolate squares that have since become an indispensable accompaniment to coffee.
In 2001, Yves Guattari became Chairman of the company and presided over a period in which Monbana began to reposition itself on the market. The company strategy was marked by the creation of a new logo, the unicorn; accelerated research into the development of new products; and a new focus on the craft of the master chocolate maker. The gates of international markets opened and contributed to the further enrichment of a range still targeted towards the more discerning palate.
